Is Bloodborne still the best Souls game?

Seems like for as much as people loved and got into souls games with Elden Ring the more passionate of the souls fanbase is still stuck on Bloodborne. I still think it has the best gameplay (fast side stepping, trick weapons), level design, music, premise. But i can see if some people are turned off by how grim and dark the setting can get. When I originally played it, it reminded me a lot of the game Nightmare Creatures. It is just an incredibly bleak game with some really creepy moments. Not only does it have the typical soulsborne difficulty but it has the thick wall of existential dread permeating throughout the game.

It is the only Fromsoft game that clicked with me .....Except for 3d dot gameheeroes but that's different.I don't know if it is the setting or the more agressive way of fighting but I really liked this one and not the Dark souls,Sekiro,Demon's souls nor Elden ring.

I played almost all the Souls games (except DS1 & DS2, getting through DS1...), I rank Elden Ring as my best FromSoft game, followed by Bloodborne.

The things I loved more about BB than ER were its aesthetics & atmosphere, that's all, but combat, level design & open-world puts ER over BB, FromSoft games already have that excellent sense of exploration & replay-ability, but with ER it is massively amplified by the unbelievably meticulous, varied & well thought-out open-world that easily puts it over any Soulsborne games IMO, and the amount of experimentation the game allows is simply on a whole another level, the game oozes with personality & even every environment in the game has its own unique ambience & music, something that didn't exist in any of the Soulsborne games.

yes, the artstyle alone sets it apart from the others and gives it the #1 spot. None of the rest even come close to be honest.

Play Elden Ring when you have the time, it's simply a stone-cold masterpiece.
need to subscribe to Sonys subscription service first to play demon souls remake then yer, Elden ring shortly after.

1. Bloodborne
2. Sekiro
3. Demon's Souls
(2 and 3 might switch depending on my mood 😂)

So yes, it still is.

Same for me, the only FromSoft game that I could stomach. And no, haven't played Elden Ring yet, but watched a lot of gameplay and for me it looks dull and stiff. Thanks, but no thanks.

Yes and by a country mile.

It’s the only one which felt epic to me. From the setting, lore, atmosphere and the soundtrack.

Everything just clicked.

Elden Ring though a great game in its own right felt like it they chose quantity over quality.

Most of the game felt like filler with no purpose.

I’d say it’s Demon’s Souls (by Bluepoint) now because it actually runs well and looks good.

Demons Souls Remake or Bloodborne for me.

Elden Ring was magical at first but then it never ends, full of copy/paste bosses/dungeons. I was burnout at the end. Still a masterpiece but as a Souls game the other 2 were better imo.

I think elden ring dropped off after leyndell, royal capital. You’ve pretty much seen 98% of the game after that point and theres still a third of game left

Its also the first souls game i didn’t feel compelled to do new game + right after jsut because theres so much filler.

For me it's still between Bloodborne and Dark Souls.

Elden Ring is the most impressive, I still can't believe From Software pulled it off.
