While Dissidia was once seen as a niche series that managed to sell "good enough", it still had a pretty big impact on the IP to the point it has cemented the voices and appearances for most of the classic protagonists of each game, and it eventually leads up to a sequel (that was, unfortunately, pretty bad). One would assume the concept was dead, but then Strangers of Paradise decided to emphasize once more how tightly connected Dissidia is to FF1.
But seriously, why hasn't this game been remastered? I don't see why it wouldn't. The fact it's seen no PC port to ensure its longevity or, the easiest way out, a Switch port just surprises me. It's not like there's potentially any copyright holding it back.
doesn't even have to be anything as fancy as the Crisis Core "remaster", just updated textures, bug fixes, and proper upscaling to the cinematics would be more than enough. The game itself is still incredibly solid and filled with hundreds of hours worth of content. But maybe that's just me. Dissidia was a huge part of my teenage years when I used the PSP a lot.
