Lower sales across the board for everyone this week. 158 Series S consoles? Damn.

60K - 70K weekly average should be the expectation for PS5; it is nice more PS software is cracking the Top 10 but they still need something really big that's able to resonate with the Japanese market in particular.

Switch hardware is in late life at this point for sales, but they will probably have a spike when Zelda comes out.

Series X actually had a decent little bump in sales this week but...where are the Xbox software sales in the charts? I always ask that question because it's actually a trap. Any answer people can provide to excuse their lack in the charts, can be equally applied to PS5 software but usually when it comes to PS we get the doomsday narratives and scalper theories.

To be fair, they don’t sell physical xbox games in stores anymore in Japan. The only software that will ever chart is anything that comes bundled.

Xbox phasing out physical means retailers have little incentive to promote the console in stores since they can’t sell anything with it

That's a good point, but if the digital/physical split is anything in Japan like it for UK (a market where Xbox is much stronger in) where PS still does 2:1 in digital sales over Xbox, then any attempt to point to lack of Xbox games on the charts as "but digital" fall apart.

PS5 digital software sales would be even higher than Xbox ones, yet there are still select PS5 games able to chart into the Top 10, Top 30 physical. So I just love sometimes seeing those types of responses in trying to excuse lack of Xbox games in the Famitsu or Media Create charts, because it exposes the hypocrisies in the PlayStation arguments when those same types try downplaying PS5 hardware and software sales in Japan.
