Obsessed is the word... when have you ever seen an industry leader trying to copy everything the company in last place is doing? Never as far as I know.

It's beyond stupid and I am just frustrated with it.

If Nintendo tried to copy PlayStation, they would have died...they instead went a different way. Now they have massive success.

That's one aspect. There is the PC side, there is the GAAS side, there is the general subscription side... there are many differentiation then in how they approach these...sony not going day 1 PC and not putting their 1st party on the subs day 1 etc.

I still think they should have diverged more from Xbox though.

Yea I don't think Phil has any real game plans with all the fuss about mergers.

It's like he bought a bunch of shiny expensive tools that supposed to be for standalone jobs, some of they may be obsolete like Bethesda, and just put it there and display it in the front so that people visit his workshop.

Sony mergers feels like they bought a bunch of raw materials or rusty tools, try to create or salvage it, and then they just display the products instead of the tools on the front. Some products may be crap but most of them are good enough

For every Gow or Spiderman, we get crap Days gone or Kojimbo walking sim(some people like it but quality is not really there), and some game are just mid(Horizon). Also there is greedy shit like GT7. I think Sony at least should stray away from bad press like GT7 release

GT7 was just bad press, I have not spent a cent more than what it cost me for the base game. It was more fanboys spreading bullshit.

The only thing I didn't like was that it had to be online when playing.

GT7 payout at launch was pitiful, you have to spend a lot of hours to get vehicles, I think Kaz kinda lost the plot there. Still pretty polished games, it lacks singleplayer contents.

Horizon, I think combat is good enough, visually beautiful, except they don't have good narrative or quest designs. Gruellia seems really bad at narrative so it makes me worrying when most of their exstaffs take PS Studios lead. They seems making the most generic story ever. Not just Horizon. Killzone also suffer from this: Good gunplay, beautiful artstyles and visuals. Story is trash.

Yeah same, never had to spend anything and still enjoyed it.

The MTX in gt7 never effected competitive play one bit aswell.

The people who will really have a legitimate complaint are those who either are collecting a lot of cars, or those who wanted that specific expensive legendary cars to get the legendary car trophy.

One thing I have to compliment PD is their commitment to VR has paid off

GT7 in VR2 is crazily good. Probably my best experience with VR, and I have spend close to million of yen on VR tech.

Days Gone is definitely not crap I get it may not be everyone's flavor but I found it to be great with some impressive tech behind it. Death Stranding also another great game experience again just not for everyone but that gameplay loop is
