While Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be the company's next release, they are also already working on a new chapter of Mass Effect, which so far has not received much relevant information.

Now a new rumor has just emerged thanks to a well-known insider. In the newest episode of his podcast, Jez Corden stated that the next Mass Effect will return to a formula similar to the original games.

Good news for Mass Effect if this rumor is true. However, Bioware has a lot of making up to do to win back fans. As long as they're under EA people will look at them with doubt as they should. As for Mass Effect, I think Bioware made the wrong choice going in the direction that was Andromeda. I've never played Andromeda but it was one of those games where you don't have to play it to know it was bad. Gameplay videos of that game were proof enough.

Where it’s at.
Considering how different the first game was from the two sequels in the original trilogy, how exactly does one “go back to the original formula”?

Do they mean ME 1 formula or ME 2?

Andromeda wasn’t as much bad as it was sterile and devoid of soul. The gameplay was actually solid. Decent gunplay and movement. It was nice to see them attempt building dungeons as well. What it was missing was everything a BioWare game did well - interesting characters and narratives. You will feel and remember nothing.

NuBioware as seen with Andromeda and Anthem are more competent as an action game dev than rpg studio. It’s been years since then and I’m sure they’ve been further transformed by EA. Into what tho is what I’m sorta optimistic about only because EA has shown some course corrections lately.

I’ve been intending to play the remasters and just redownloaded them. I was there for their original releases but across different platforms. Would love to have a single run thru all 3. ME1 can be a bit of slog to plow thru tho.

I get the ME1 love but the concepts are better than the game. It’ll be interesting to see if ME2 holds up best. I’m assuming the formula they want is ME2 anyway.

You really have to wonder how long Bioware will last at this point? How many more critical and commercial failures do they get?
