Jez Corden whisperer presumably from xbox told him the generation for series console is at it's end.

We've already had a thread about this topic in general, but while Jez Corden relied on his Xbox insider to support him with a steady stream of hopium/copium, the whisper accidentally revealed a bit too much behind the curtain.

While defending Xbox availability in certain countries, the insider told Jez that there are naturally fewer consoles being manufactured during the end of the generation. The end of the generation?
But with only 4 years in, we're currently smack in the middle.

Did the Xbox whisperer reveal a bit too much? By revealing that the series consoles are at the end of their generation?

It has been implied to me that Microsoft prioritizes stock in the United States and other western markets during the holiday season, and towards the end of the generation, fewer consoles are being manufactured globally in general

this is more copium, but if it were true it would be even more of a sign that the series s was a mistake. Why else so quickly move to a new console generation unless the current hardware is a huge issue

This is a very old article already proved as being false.
He tried to damage control the Saudi Arabia press reports a week ago.

We have a thread here with the same article…

I have known about Microsoft moving on from Series X/S since February because they told you as much. When you talk about new hardware that's a few years away, I would say that yeah, they're moving forward as they should. Fall 2026, give me my new Xbox console and Xbox Portable. Let's go baby!!!

They can release as many consoles as they want, I am sure bangers like starfield and redfall will sell a lot of consoles. If the idiots buy another xbox console after being sold fool's gold in the form of series x/s then they should just tattoo a big fat L on their forehead

I wouldnt be surprised if they released a new console next year, leap jump the generation like 360/PS3.
If they really are dumb enough to do that. They probably all sat down together and thought thats what almost got us to beat PS in the 360 era…. Here we go again?

Of course it’s because it’s the end of the generation duh. LOL

Literally halfway through a gen, and no we are not going back to the days of 5 year generations, ever, just look at how long cross gen has lasted and now publishers aim hard at the midrange to low range of the pc market (steamdeck).

Launching a new gen prematurely will back fire hard, specially when half the consoles they sell are Series S for Christ sakes.

Diminishing returns are at their peak too.

Intriguing view, how should they handle new games? Should they make just for that new platform or still support the series?

Personally, I would make them current generation exclusive but you could still play them via the Cloud as a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber on Xbox Series X/S which would eliminate any issues with visuals or performance since the game would be streamed from their data centers.

As for what I believe Microsoft will do is have the games be cross-generation which in general, im expecting to last longer next generation than it has for this generation.

Cross-gen or not, im expecting the following launch games lineup - Call of Duty 2026, Forza Horizon 6, Gears of War: E-Day, Halo: Combat Evolved Remake and Perfect Dark.

2025 exbox is discontinued.

They'll sell the stock they have and push for cloud/PC/any device

So MS should release those games for the Xbox series s, Xbox series x, xbox handheld, xbox new platform, ps5, pc?

Or did I miss a platform?

I believe there isn’t much more Xbox can do to gain an advantage over PlayStation. Jumping ahead by at least two years and introducing a handheld device could definitely help. Ultimately, it all comes down to the games. I just think there’s little point in going head-to-head with whatever Cerny is developing for them. He will cook any MBA or marketing intern appointed to design the next console.
