It depends if they already agreed a price or not. If they didn't have a signed price for the acquisition, it negatively affects Sony.
In case they already had a price agreed, then it protects the acquisition against a hostile takeover from somebody else.
Reuters has links to the UK and US intelligence agencies, meaning they probably they leaked it to benefit some American/English big company/hedge fund or to hurt Sony.
Kadowaka is way smaller than Paramount or Zee, so if Sony wants to buy and Kadokawa wants to sell, the acquisition should be easier and quicker.
In case of gaming Kadokawa has a tiny market share, so I assume regulators won't say anything. If something, regulators could say something related to almost potentially monopolizing the anime in the future, but I doubt it.
After the acquisition it could be a pain in the ass in case they decide to reorganize it and split into the different Sony divisions, but the acquisition itself I think should be relatively straight forward.
