Nice to see them doing good and being happy.
Regarding their relationship with Sony, it's worth mentioning that in addition to Rise of the Ronin, this fiscal year they also released Fate/Samurai Remnant, codeveloped with Type-Moon and produced by Aniplex (Sony), and also Atelier Resleriana, codeveloped with Akatsuki Games (leading Japanese mobile gamedev company who signed a 3 ways deal with Sony and Koei Tecmo).
Regarding their plans for the future, seems they'll want to continue partnering with Sony:

I really hope they can make the coop open world, be it DLC or in the sequel. They could surpass even Nioh 2 imo with that feature.
Hopefully the good WOM from gamers keeps it selling. It's the best and biggest Team Ninja game.

I mean thts, been the popular trend for over a decade now so generally it's a given but some games don't benefit from open world and many do not sell. It all depends.
I wouldn’t be shocked to hear that Shogun actually helped sales of Ronin (and lttp Tsushima players).
I genuinly think so as well. I have noticed most big billion dollar companies won't just lie, so if they are saying it's selling well, it must be doing so.
I've also noticed it's got positive user scores, and the QoL features are good as well.

I'm this close to getting this game. I mainly want it for the setting, like Nioh but I'm not sure if I want to get involved with a game that over 30 hours long. I finally got to clearing my backlog and finished Rogue Trooper today, so I don;t wanna get bogged down again. have a few days off now so I might get on that backlog even more, freeing me for this.
