I have started this thread again, time has been allowed for numbers to settle on Steam and we will hopefully have estimates of sales in some territories in the coming weeks.

So we can discuss them here.

Attention: This thread is not to be merged or closed.

I see people saying that on switch it will sell but why the fuck will garbage sell on switch. Industry plant IP where the creators themselves want to make it the next big thing instead of the IP getting a massive fan base.

In the search of W's all they will get is L's. I can't wait for the horizon GaaS games lol, getting guerrilla shut down will be poetic justice for this IP

People say that because if you look at the weekly eShop seller there is always one or more Lego games there 🤷🏻‍♂️

For example UK eShop TOP30:

#6 Lego Harry Potter
#9 Lego Marvel Super Heroes
#15 Lego Jurassic World
#20 Lego The Incredibles

So I expect Lego Horizon will o shows there next week.

My guy only nintendo makes gangbusters on the eshop, these fodder lego games sell for as low as 5 AUD in australia. And Lego star wars and lego batman may sell but Aloy is not Bruce Wayne nor a Skywalker.

How do these Lego games tend to do on steam? From a quick Steamdb search the only Lego games with legs on Steam are the Star Wars branded ones. Most of the other ones have similar numbers with peak CCU in the hundreds.

Even the Star War ones probably just break 1 million on Steam.
It is not the typical game the user base plays.

I mean who plays family co op games with your kid in a PC?

Not only did it fail spectacularly, but it managed to do so in a week where no other high profile game could obfuscate it, so it was quite the achievement.

This was one of those games that made everyone say no one asked for this. It's not even a new story, it's the first game's story retold in a family friendly Lego lens.

So many franchises that a significant amount of people want to see again like Bloodborne, Syphon Filter, Infamous, Killzone, Resistance, LocoRoco, PataPon, Jak and Daxter or TearAway. But somehow they keep greenlighting stuff no one wants.

The average peak CCS seems around 4K-5K; Skywalker Saga is an anomaly and pulled in 82K peak CCU, but usually it's a lot smaller.

Thing is, LEGO Horizon is tracking well below the typical peak CCU too for modern LEGO games, so clearly it's just not a very popular entry.

Also, the people saying it'll do much better on console...well the same was said about Concord and look what happened there. I'm not expecting PS5 or Switch to salvage sales and even if player numbers were better on them, since they're both closed platforms WRT providing player data metrics, it doesn't matter.

This is not a high profile game.

Still sounds like it failed though.

Maybe Lego should have chosen a higher-profile IP instead of Horizon. Nevertheless, it is a very well-put-together game, and it's also fun. I have no regrets about my purchase.

I’m going to try other Lego games now.

This cannot be because just 24 hours ago we were told by our A.I overlord it's way too early

It is pretty retarded to take any conclussions with CCUs just a few hours after the game is released. This thread should be merged -and some other recent nonsensical ones- into the 'sony is doomed' thread.

So you mean to say the thread should have stuck around so we could have updated the progress 😱

Funny how they've been avoiding the discussion ever since.
