Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is now the biggest RGG launch on Steam based on the number of concurrent users

Good on RGG, and yeah, this was expected considering this is the first mainline game since 2019.
Like a Dragon Gaiden managed to hit 13k last November and it was a spin-off.

Currently Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is at 27,128. Although the game is probably just about to peak.
The game released at midnight Japan Standard Time, so I expect the numbers to rise significantly tomorrow.
