Could this be Sony's chance to get all of that Rockstar goodness without all the TakeTwo badness and expense?
Take 2 acquired Rockstar like 25 years ago. If anything its an example of why you want to acquire.More proof on why acquisitions generally don't work.
What matters is the people.
And people leave.

First off ...Take 2 acquired Rockstar like 25 years ago. If anything its an example of why you want to acquire.
You said more proof but all it really is is proof that acquisitions do work. T2 has two pillars now, one is GTA and the other is NBA.First off ...
I said "generally." Of course there are situations where they can work, and Sony is actually a great example of how to do it. Rockstar was also not anywhere near it's peak when it was bought out (much like Insomniac and Naughty Dog when they were bought IMO).
Dude .... no lol.You said more proof but all it really is is proof that acquisitions do work. T2 has two pillars now, one is GTA and the other is NBA.
Actually, you know what, T2's other pillar is another acquisition, they got it from Sega. Exception my ass...Dude .... no lol.
Rockstar falls under the phrase "the exception that proves the rule." And like I said they were purchased at a much different stage than a lot of what we often see.
What I meant by more proof was evidence that no matter what company it is, people will leave. Rockstar won't be Rockstar if its best talent goes. The brand/company doesn't matter as much as the people. That's the proof I'm talking about. So people can acquire companies all they want but, in general, they do not work because they don't deliver the value that is hoped for. This isn't really even an opinion, just go look at the historical record. Even the recent one.
