Interesting, nice to see papa Jaffe talking to devs to get some extra insight even if they are small bits because obviously there are NDAs, spoilers and so on. As I assumed as director he'll care more about gameplay, but the story will continue to be strong since they're the same guys.
Nice to see he's happy with Eric as director and that thinks that story is stronger. Let's hope doesn't mean they'll kill and replace Kratos and make Atreus gay/bi (or as in the Norse Mithology, getting fucked by a horse), following Sony's trend of getting rid of their white male straight protagonists. This is God of War: so we want an angry badass motherfucker Kratos killing Gods and giant monsters etc and not lgtb (or any other kind or political stuff) propaganda speeches or tokenism. I say that as a LGTB person who had LGTB family, friends and coworkers since forever but also a PS fan since the PS1 days who wants to keep having his gaming icons and not replaced because of white signaling and propaganda.
I also say that as fan of Ellie, Miles Morales or Jin Sakai. But who wants to keep playing as Joel, Nathan Drake, Peter Parker, Kratos and so on.

If the do something "subversive" applied to the world of Rian Johnson and Neil Druckam.....yep, the insane shitshow on social media is going to be so fucking annoying that I will transition
I totally hated that in that Star Wars movie and TLOU2, in the same way I also totally hated MGS2 (Druckmann's favorite game ever and the one that inspired the TLOU2 thing) for that same reason.
In Star Wars I wanted Luke to be the ultimate badass and be if not the main character, the costar. In TLOU2 I wanted Joel and Ellie. In Metal Gear Solid 2 I wanted Snake. In GoWR I want Kratos. Can new sidekicks or co-stars, or secondary characters appear? Sure! Can you replace them with someone who doesn't even have half of their charisma when they are a huge icons of that medium and a key part of the IP? No, you'll fail. Said that, I loved Rey in her saga and Raiden in MGS4 (not in MGS2).

Seems you didn't read or understood my post.
But Finn is a good example: a poorly written and uncharismatic character who basically adds nothing to the story but it's there to have a [insert minority here] character to add representation and diversity, and theres a boring chunk of movie basically doing nothing in a casino and shit in a too long filler scene with other uncharismatic character that adds nothing to the movie but to provide [insert minority here] representation.
Lando instead is a charismatic character that added something to the story. People remembers and loves him decades later. People already forgot who Finn (I had to google his name, I had forgotten it). Like Wesley Snipes in Blade, or Sam L. Jackson in any movie he makes he is a badass charismatic motherfucker, as he was in Star Wars. And so on.
