That might be tough for them to justify, since Rise is drastically reduced in scale from World, and World is usually around $30 these days.

It's now official. January 20th, 2023. Never played a Monster Hunter game and Rise is said to be the most accessible game in the series so looking forward to trying this out day one on Game Pass for me. From Benji-Sales -

As of September 30th, 2022, Monster Hunter World on three platforms has sold 18.5m copies. If you include the Iceborne edition, it goes just over 20m. Monster Hunter World released in January 2018. So over 4 1/2 years on the market.

As for Rise, it has sold over 11m units as of September 30th, 2022 which is 1 1/2 years on the market. The Sunborne expansion seems to be over 4m units in approximately six months. This is all before it releases on PS4/PS5, XBO/XSX/S which has a combined user install base of approximately 220m. Rise is going to surpass World and in less time too.

It was an easy port from the Switch.

Also, and this may shock you, did you know Capcom has more than one development team on their payroll? It isn't impacting World's ongoing dev path to have the Rise team crank out some ports. The two series are running in parallel.
