The first photos of the new ‘slim’ version of the PlayStation 5 in the wild have emerged.
Twitter user @phantompainss shared photos on Twitter, stating that they managed to buy one at their military base exchange.
They proceeded to post 10 photos of the console’s packaging – showing that they bought the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III bundle – including a photo of the small plastic stand that’s used to display the console horizontally.

Saw the pics from that guy. Missing the vent grills that gives a visual cover for the internals at the top is a miss on the aesthetics.
Definitely a size differential worthy of upgrading to, but the aesthetics imo are overall a downgrade. The bump of the disc drive is plain ugly in the slim. In the OG the bump lines are buttery smooth. Not upgrading, unless we get an improved slim design with the disc drive bump and top air grill aesthetics fixed.

Didn’t even realize there’s no more grill. Makes it look even worse. The top being open like that looks too plain and weird.
I really have to get another of the launch model before they’re all sold out. It looks so good and sleek.
