He explains that he looked at everything from cinematics to animations instead of just graphics rendering to come to his conclusions.

Alan Wake 2 is number 1
Spiderman 2 is number 2 (says narrowly missed out number 1 spot)

I think they are all decent picks but Jedi Survivor didn't really impress me in any way.

Alan Wake 2 is a game I've heard really positive things about, graphically at least but I've also heard that there is a lot of reuse of areas and so they could focus on the quality of those few areas a lot more than.... A game like FFXVI or Horizon for instance.

But there's a lot to be said for more linear games and some of the advantages that brings for graphics and a leaner experience.

Yeah, there should be some rules. Alan Wake 2 aren't touching Horizon if it would be open world.

Of course, if I did graphics analysis and comparisons I'd definitely take into acct whether a game was open world or very linear and static. Open world games which look almost as good imo are infinitely more advanced and should get the nod because of tht. If thts the case Insomniac or whoever should just make a few minute tech demo or slice and destroy everything else. As a matter of fact I think linear as opposed to open world should be seperated ultimately for these types of comparisons, it's not fair. But I guess thts why they also have "technical achievements categories".
