@NXGamer analyzes the latest Witcher 3 current gen patch.

Summary:

- AMD cards perform worse than RTX in general (nvidia sponsorship?)
- RAM and CPU use increased, even if RT is turned off
- For best PC performance downgrading to old version is recommended (this can be done if the game was bought through GOG)
- RT mode on consoles performs poorly (same situation as AMD cards on PC), framerate dips somewhat lower on PS5, Series X shows tearing instead. VRR helps on both, but can only do so much.
- Series S benefits from locked 30fps.

A shame, didn't this game get re-reviewed and scored higher than it's first release, which was also a buggy, glitchy game with a terrible camera and awful performance on the consoles with low AF and settings below low on consoles.

What has changed now really, they added new features, performance is still awful with the new graphical features, they need to implement tearing on XBOX and lower shadow and foliage draw on that version in every mode, yet no one is calling this out. What's the point of RT if the framerate falls below 30fps on consoles. What's the point of these new CPU's if framerate still falls in inner cities. Why Does CDPR get such a pass. I felt the media gave them a huge pass for Cyberpunk launch woes too. It takes CDPR years to fix their games and even then they never fix them, it's always more issues introduced or re-introduced. Yet the media was merciless for a little aliasing in Forbidden West, whilst Forza has been shimmer haven for years, they crucified days gone for a few dropped frames during massive zombie hordes with more interactive gameplay and triggers and physics over many open world games, yet games like Plagues Tale gets a pass.
