eXputer has learned through sources who wish to remain anonymous that Square Enix's Octopath Traveler 2 is arriving on Xbox Series X|S this month, though the exact date couldn't be confirmed.

It's going to be a day-one Xbox Game Pass game, along with the franchise's first game (Octopath Traveler), which could also be added to the subscription service as well.

For those who missed it: One of the major announcements of last year's Tokyo Game Show was Octopath Traveler 2's Xbox and PC release. At the time, the devs signaled an "early 2024" release window.

Congrats to Xbox owners into this. I hear Octopath 2 is a lot better than 1. I personally thought Octopath Traveler 1 was all right, but I totally get the desire to have more interactions between party members and more interesting dungeons.
Surprising port, but hope people enjoy it.

Count yourself lucky, the game was loaded with issues to the point that I didn't finish it.

The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has rated the original Octopath Traveler for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Octopath Traveler first launched for Switch on July 13, 2018, followed by PC via Steam on June 7, 2019, Stadia on April 28, 2020, and Xbox One on March 25, 2021. While the sequel Octopath Traveler II launched for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 simultaneously alongside Switch and PC, the original game never came to PlayStation.

The PlayStation versions of Octopath Traveler were rated alongside the Xbox Series version of Octopath Traveler II, suggesting the release date for the long-awaited Xbox release will be announced alongside it. Exputer recently reported that the Xbox Series version is set to launch in June, and will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.

II is a much better game than I, Has a better and tighter story imo and the platinum is more streamlined and easier to get not to mention the GOAT Partitio theme music. Btw if you are going for platinum in octo 1 start with merchant or hunter for the fleetfoot and lone traveller achievements

Finally I can replay it on 4k and 60 fps. That was criminally to release it on Xbox first, instead on the Japanese console PS.
