Open access for 3 Destiny expansions and seasons [Shadowkeep & Beyond Light campaigns go f2p]

Destiny’s Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and Witch Queen expansions are now available to play until the launch of The Final Shape on June 4th for all players. In addition to this, all seasonal content from this passed year season pass will also be open to all players ( I do not believe this includes dungeons).

Once this “open access” period ends you will no longer have access to the campaigns or endgame associated with any of this content but you will keep any gear and armor earned. Expansions that include subclasses, like Beyond Light… access to the subclass will be barred after this period (most likely unless they change this).

Missing is the previous expansion Lightfall which became available for PS plus essential subscribers this week.

Also having launched yesterday were 3 brand new PvP maps to the game (they’re actually good! And the new king of the hill mode is dope).

Excellent, I recommend people try them all out. Particularly The Witch Queen.

Update: Shadowkeep and Beyond Light campaigns go f2p

Bungie has revealed in their latest blog post that some of content available during this “open access” will be free-to-play moving forward with the launch of Final Shape.

Beginning with Final Shape, both Shadowkeep and Beyond Light campaign’s as well as the Stasis subclass will roll into the f2p game. This does not seem to included endgame content as that will still need to be purchasable separately. Nor does it include the Witch Queen expansion content and seasonal content currently available in open access to all.

This is the first time Destiny has re-introduced f2p campaign and expansion content in the f2p version since removing its original story content with the original vaulting of content four years ago (?).
