Blizzard has decided to cancel all future OW2 PvE and focus on the competitive PvP experience going forward according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.

Last year, Overwatch 2 released what was slated to be the first patch of PvE content for the game with its Season 6 ‘Invasion’ that included 3 story missions.

The missions sold so poorly that Blizzard made the decision to axe future PvE content and lay off the majority of the devs involved in the PvE missions.

Furthermore, the poor sales resulted in the devs receiving 0% of the company’s profit-sharing bonuses this month.

Microsoft definitely over paid. From the activision side they’ve laid hundreds of ppl off, lost toys for bob, disappointing cod sales you, crash rumble ending support, from the blizzard side Diablo4 suffers steep decline in players, bad post launch support, steep decline in players for overwatch 2, decline in profits, outright fan hostility to the game, bad post launch support, cancelled one of their biggest games they been working on in yrs.

didn't this release right after it was announced that they were completely gutting the campaign mode plans or scaling them back or something? not the best way to make people want to buy into a live service game

stick a goddamn fork in blizzard already

Blizzard is long dead and they should either close them down or change their name.

You're right, but they've been rotting for a lot longer than ABK. I'll never understand Phil Spencer.
Phil Spencer only cares about owning IPs and past success, that is why he is so comfortable spending so much in publishers and studios that were clearly going downhill.

I think Bobby sold for a fair price, its just that what he was selling didn't integrate well with what Microsoft wanted.

Maybe I'm wrong and being able to implement mobile and PC stores will make up for the problems but, well, I doubt it. Not withApple being able to maintain a defacto monopoly on iOS app sales.
