A member of the Palworld development team says it isn’t healthy to play the same game all the time, if it wasn’t created with long-term gameplay in mind.

According to Buckley, if players continue to play the same title, it will enforce the belief among publishers and developers that more live service games are the way forward, diluting the market:

I don’t think you need to be pushing yourself to play the same game all the time“It’s not healthy for us, it’s not healthy for developers, it’s not healthy for gamers, it’s not healthy for gaming media.

And it’s just not healthy for our industry, because the more we push this kind of narrative, the more very large companies are going to just say ‘gamers want more live service’.

Actually the mote ofLive Service is to being supposed to be played forever (or until the game is supported by the devs).
If you created a Live Service game that can't hold players (whatever with events, new content, etc) then you are failing to be a Live Service game.

In that case post launch support is essential as the own launch to Live Services... maybe the post launch is even more important than the launch.
Post launch is a challenge because you have to be innovative to create new ways to engage players that you did not planned for the launch.

If Palworld is not supposed to be played forever then it is not a Live Service game and neither will have constant post-game support.
So what they wanted?

after their ceo said he was not into originality and announced a hollow knight ripoff i think they probably dont have enough creativity to make post launch content... nintendo did them dirty by not making pokemon a live service game, now they dont have anything to copy/paste

NIce cope but it's okay, being January's flavor of the month was enough for Sony Music to invest in it so he's good for a while.

I actually went back to Pal World recently. It definitely has a limited amount of content, having only played SP I wouldn't say it was GaaS at all. Though it also still feels early access, too.
