Looks like Sony deal fell through. This will have major consequences for Paramount since the Sony deal benefited all investor where the Sky Dance only benefited the owner. Seems the rumors of Sony wanting to close/sell off parts Paramount is something Paramount owner didn’t like. Also legal problems with investors maybe suing? Not sure entirely.

Sony now you have 26 billion to actually buy a entertainment publisher that holds stronger & more diverse set of ip & actually owns the ip across board.

Buy WB, David Sazlav said he would look at selling/merging WB.

DC, Cartoon Network, Wizarding world, Monster verse, Games of thrones, Looney tunes, Hanna barbera etc + gaming studios, max subscription, WB music etc

Sony spending 26 billion on Paramount is a brain dead target. Your essentially paying 26 billion for TMNT, SpongeBob, Tom Cruise/MIP & Star Trek which really 1 maybe 2 of those ip are bread winners that can bring a ton of profits the rest are smaller & imo are irrelevant ip to the younger generation & or have no relevance in gaming.

And as shown with Paramount going the Sky dance who offer significantly less because Paramount doesn’t own Transformer or the Sonic ip at the end Sony could’ve bought Paramount & lost those movie right after purchase & the ip owners could’ve been like yuh we don’t wana renew our deal making the Paramount acquisition even worse as it would cut major profits away.

If Sony wants a slew of ip there best luck is buying WB. WB has a bunch of ip that are not just iconic in films, animation but in gaming & or ip would translate amazing imo in gaming aswell as movies, animation & parks. IP like DC would be a big deal as it can help PS expand to mobile & live service much easier having already iconic & established characters like what tencent is doing with Marvel Rivals Sony could do w DC making a actual DC Overwatch clone or making a clone of another popular genre using DC ip like DC fighter, DC Genshin clone or DC Valorant clone etc. Imagine instead of Concord we got the same gameplay but w already established & iconic super heroes characters from DC.

Or if Sony wanted Paramount they should’ve just bought Sega far far cheaper & actually own the Sonic IP & make animation further expand Sonic to parks like the super Nintendo park but Sonic etc. Sonic has a bunch of characters & Sega other ip are great for movies, animation, tv shows even parks a Persona park would be cool as hell in the same art style. But you Sony needs to expand PS studios to become multi team & in general buy more talented studios to make singleplayer & multiplayer at a healthy balance & quicker releases
