FF16 came out a the end of the month on 1 platform and it's only beaten by Diablo on 5 platforms. Early access was from June 2.

F1 23 also came out June 16 on everything and it's only number 4.

We know from the Square Enix data that most probably FFXVI sales were lower across regions compared with FFXV PS4.
The biggest difference is that FFXV was more hyped before launch and after got hard beaten by word of mouth (that probably affected initial FFXVI sales).
While FFXVI the hype was lower (again maybe due how bad FFXV was) but the word of mouth is good.

What I mean is that FFXVI can have better legs even with the initial sales decline.
So the real meansuremente for FFXVI will be in a few years with lifetime sales and after with how it will affect FFXVII initial sales.
