Nice, now Sony just have to figure out how to take home more of that revenue.
And yet all the spin today is that Playstation is doing bad. It took 3 years for Xbox to sell 21 millions, PS5 will sell that in 1 year and they are doomed

But sie clearly have an expense problem they need to fix asap. No business should be losing 90+ percent of their revenue and certainly not Sony.
Beating Xbox is such a low bar.
Xbots used to brag about how Sony was going to be much smaller in terms of revenue yet here we are. I also thing Xbox is going to have a hard time going forward even in term of revue because all these publishers and studios they have seem to be in terrible shape.

All the PS5 he promotions they had seems to have hurt them. Looks like they had too many sales and on top of the sales failed to meet their hardware quota of 25 million, so the sales were pointless and costly.
A more slow and steady approach is more sustainable vs this rapid growth of the hardware install base. Trying to sell 25 million was too aggressive and it strained the fuck out of their bottom line for the year.
No doubt the next sie president is gonna have a rough intro, they will start working in a year where the likely have to lay folks off, less sales/promotions, less 3rd party exclusives and less marketing as they spend 2024 to trying and realign.
Totoki is not walking out of sie and back to his regular post without a few pounds of flesh from PlayStation. We should buckle up.

Compared to Xbox it did not look like PS5 had many sales, particularity in December.
Every console sold is going to be making Sony money over the years, they already charge for online and take a 30% cut of other games and seem to have gone all in on GaaS and PC ports, what is even left for PlayStation to do? Maybe announce and release some of those elusive internal games?

This quarter they posted record revenue, record MAU, record software sales, record game sub revenue for any console maker (that includes Nintendo) in gaming history. This quarter also was the best one ever in PS history regarding console sales, accesories sales, plus they also keep improving with the revenue they make with their games outside PS.
Yet there’s a lot if doom and gloom going around, like facts and numbers don’t matter.
