Problems with Soviet aircraft in War Thunder

Due to the gradual introduction into the game, I managed to collect all premium aircraft of the USSR of the 6th rank. Yak-38, Su-7BMK, MiG-21S and Su-25k.
The Yak was quite difficult to control the aircraft, but thanks to good suspensions, he could do something in air battles and was good at destroying ground equipment.
Then they introduced the Su-7 - an excellent attack aircraft for joint and simulation battles, with which you can pump the entire branch of the USSR. So there is almost no point in Yak.
Next introduced Miga. He became a good fighter and was useful in joint battles thanks to four S-24s. There was no point in buying the Yak anymore, and the Su-7 was only suitable for creating a setup for joint battles.
Recently they introduced the Su-25 and now no one needs the Su-7 either. The Su-25 is now doing all of its work.
Now they are introducing the eighth rank of aviation and the new MiG-23, which will become a premium aircraft at the seventh rank. Accordingly, the need for all of the above aircraft is eliminated. Also, the price for it will be higher than for the old packages due to the higher rank. I advise you to take it on third-party resources, such as difmark or on some other. All the same, the package with it will be new, which means there will be no discounts in the official store for it yet.

Okay, so the new content is making the old Soviet fighters obsolete?

Would you say it is now a pay to win situation in the game? Or is it not at that point yet?

Isn't that how technological progress goes? No one fields p-51s or mitsubishi zeroes any more because they would get smoked, wouldn't be able to carry modern ordnance or targeting packages etc.

Yes it's a problem because of power creep but imo it could easily be solved by having game modes that are restricted by era

It’s an accurate representation of the real life advances in fighter planes, honestly. Each successive generation of fighters makes past ones obsolete.

In real life, something like an F-4 is nowhere near as capable as an F-35 is.

I reckon you built a lot of Airfix models when you were a kid.

Does anyone remember those, they were simply awesome.

I had a spitfire and a landrover that i put together, the paint jobs were not so good hah
