I'm playing Source of Madness and it's a very interesting and unusual game. I'm trying to make sense of it.

It's kind of like a Metroidvania-Roguelike that looks very bizarre.

Never been the biggest fan of Bungie campaigns (mega fan since Halo 1). The legendary difficulties to Witch Queen and Lightfall are a treat tho as traditional and linear shooter campaigns. So I do kinda think of those comparable to Bungie Halo… but with more boss encounters?

The best change since earlier Destiny is that more focused campaign. No patrol space exploring (which is kinda no longer part of the game’s loop at all) and just play campaign. Legendary also is capped to where it’s a set power handicap so power lvl grind etc is useless. You don’t even have to go to the tower or anything. Just play it like a single player game.

Narratively I give no shits and they tell stories better in the seasonal roll out. I’m not as crazy on Witch Queen as some but it’s a good campaign. Its narrative is a bit oversold by most but I think a big part is the season that launched before it (no longer exists) that acted as a 3 month prologue for it. Must play on legendary tho and the normal difficulty is just … it should be deleted.

New players finding how to even launch Witch Queen content will be fun to read about. Pretty sure it won’t be obvious to even find. Also HDR may not be on by default on PlayStation and FoV should be increased to 90 and above.

Witch Queen’s raid however? … my all time favorite raid. Weapons from the raid are good too… campaign craftable weapons tho? Eh not so much. Lightfall campaign weapons are pretty much all fantastic PvP weapons tho.
