Take a guess - and it's not religion or location related. Just look at what these fuckers did to football.
A football club being bought is totally different scope than acquiring shares. Sony will only receive new cash streams and profit on a higher valuation at the stock exchange. Sony being outright bought or controlled through a controlling-stake, will simply never happen. First because Sony is a protected corporation and also you're need to report the intention, to purchase shares 1%> to the board's company + notifying the JFTC (Japanese Antitrust authority) & Japanese government.

You do understand that shareholders, especially those seeking seats in the board (like those from middle eastern investments) will then push for sweeping changes to see their investment grow, right? There's also things such as "activist investors", which I'm sure you're aware of - these investment funds quite often act like that.

Political ideology should stay out of this. Because if we begin on that level, I will need to write long essays how bad it is to use US Dollar money.

Quatar buying shares, that means the stock price and market cap will go up for Sony significantly
Oh is the US government investing in videogame publishers?

It doesn't matter if they are. I know your disliking of Qatar Investment Authority is politically motivated. I don't even want to know why you think so. Because if we start to villainize whole countries, then I can tell you a million reasons why the USA is the worst amongst all of them. Anyway, that's not wished here, so save your agenda for somewhere else.

Didnt Saudi invest in Nintendo, SNK and Capcom?
TBH the middle east investing in things like the UFC and Boxing has been great for the sports. Its not like they are gonna call shots, they are probably want more gaming events, shows, and probably a faster arabic translation for the games/movies or something.

I have more issues with religion and such then most people and have my families lives have been effected by it but I dont really see the negativity in this.

They want to invest to make money and bring in more fans into the country. It’s not a China or MS situation where they have a control and takeover motive every decision they make.

Fuck oil money
So you want to keep the investment from USA away from gaming?

Anyways, did these guys actually say Sony or just Japan? Because zuby doesn't link anything.
QIA said Japan is a key market or them and that their investents in Japan more than doubled since 2021, plus that they're looking for new opportunities. But in general, wasn't talking about gaming or tech.

Zuby is the one who said they could invest in Sony, not QIA.
