Interesting on GN's benchmarks it fell short of the 6800XT, which is kinda disappointing.

It didn't fall short of the 6800XT, it fell short of the Sapphire 6800XT Nitro+ which is a factory overclocked card that clocks pretty high and reaches stock 6900XT levels of performance at the cost of higher power draw.

TPU compared the reference 7800XT to the reference 6800XT and 6900XT and the card is 3% slower than the 6900XT in pure rasterization and 3% faster in raytracing enabled titles.

It also seems the 3rd party cards can clock pretty high. The 7800XT Nitro+ managed to do 2936MHz average, which brings a whopping 16.8% performance bump over the reference 7800XT.

damn! 16% more performance on a factory overclock is crazy! That's a whole tier up in performance WTF
