That's a somewhat decent price for an X60 card: 300 USD My GTX 760 was around 280 USD back in 2013.
They really need more offerings on the sub 200 USD market though. Entry level cards should perform like a 2070 at minimum.

16GB of VRAM is a requirement for when I upgrade.

I have a 3060 that I got a couple months ago but seeing this makes me want to upgrade, especially the pricing is insanely cheap.

a 4060 with 8gb vram at $300 is actually really decent considering nvidia's recent pricing faux pas. But tbh an 8gb card is just not enough in this day and age, if you are buying one of these don't expect to play new games at any sort of decent settings, and 1080p only. We'll have to see how they price the 4060 Ti 16gb to determine if it's a good buy. I'm expecting $500, but if it's $400 then that's probably a good buy.
this 40 series is a real failure except for the 4090 all the rest of the range is crap

The problem is nvidia named and priced them 2 tiers up from where they should be.
4070 should be a 4060, at $400-450 instead of $600 would be a great buy
4070 Ti should be a 4060 Ti, at $500 instead of $700-800 would be a great buy
4080 16gb should be a 4070 or 4070ti at $700-800 instead of $1200
Now the 4060/Ti should be 4050 class cards

8GB VRAM should be for nothing but the absolute entry level these days. Decent card if it were 220 USD or with 12 GB.
the 16 GB version is 499$ it's still as much a rip-off as the 8GB variant and always limited to 288GB/s so it doesn't change anything to what I said above
