In a Slipknot featuring instagram reel it seems like Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is coming to Xbox Game Pass.

In an Instagram reel on atlus_west’s Instagram page a collab between Slipknot the band and the developer has seemingly linked that Shin Megami Tensei V is coming to Game Pass. Official artwork running along the bottom of the Instagram reel lists Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox, Windows, Steam, and… Game Pass!

I still have the original on Switch (steelbook edition). I better sell it fast because the value will tank if it's on Game Pass 😤

Atlus, XSeed, Iffys and NIS-America... they all seem to be catering to Xbox as of late.
It's really insane AND baffling.

Like the last Neptunia game just dropped on Xbox, and even Nintendo fanboys were like "DA F*Q?" lol

I think its crazy that as xbox becomes less and less relevant market share wise they keep scooping all these ports.

The simplest answer is usually the correct one, it's the bags.
This must be some part of a greater "let's get some Japanese games" strategy at Xbox.
Nobody is going to buy these games, especially the more niche ones like Neptunia.
I'm sure this will end when some Xbox person looks at the numbers and say, why are we doing this exactly?
Might take awhile though, it's like a footnote in their total budget.

For console ports of equal power PS<--->Series, you can really scrape the bottom of the barrel and farm out quick ports for almost nothing. I'm talking like 50k-250k USD.
Depending if they're doing it internally or outsourced to cheap Asian port house, it could really really be low considering employee costs and currency exchange rate(s).

Yeah probably. This was probably implemented sometime before the console sales complately cratered and before MS execs started crunching the numbers.

I’d also take Microsoft money. It’s either that or not sell at all.
Let’s be honest this going to flop everywhere

Which is why the only logical conclusion is that MS is paying a pretty penny and SEGA/Atlus sees continued value in making an Xbox port of games. Really would like to see how large the bag(s) are being exchanged.

Wasn't there something about MS' cloud tech too? I found this article talking about it:

Besides paying for games to appear on Game Pass, I suspect this is also part of why it's happening. 'We give you tech and support, you give us marketing rights and put your games on our sub service' - maybe something like that?
