Sony Group bidding to purchase InfoCom

Sony Group is in the bidding to purchase InfoCom parent company of MechaComic the largest online manga site in Japan.

In conjunction with private equity, the deal looks to be worth 1.28 billion dollars.

I can't see Sony will buy them or even consider to bid. Guys this is not a Manga Publishing label of which Sony could benefit for their Anime adaptations. It's literally a platform where you can view and read Manga digital. I think a more realistic buyer would be Kadokawa Corp. If it were a sole Manga label like Type-Moon then I bet Sony would go all in for bidding.

You still got the wrong picture. Sony does indeed produce Anime: Sony Music Japan and Aniplex. They have been doing so since the 90s. My claim was they would be interested if it was an Manga publishing label. I don't see the benefit for an Online Manga reader.

I said crunchyroll wasn't really a publisher either, yet sony bought them. That was my point that you so terribly missed.

My point is that Sony wants to be involved in Manga distribution.
