For those who don't know it, this is the largest gaming (and digital entertainment) exhibition in Asia and in recent times even passed Gamescom as the biggest one in the world.

Last year ChinaJoy had 338,000 atendees and they estimate over 354K for this year. As reference TGS had 243K last year, and Gamescom 320K.

China investment will win the next 20 years of console wars for PlayStation. Bank on it
Well said and I'd add that Korea and other Asian countries tries are very important too in varying degrees.
Well, partnerships with Chinese, Korean etc. companies for games like ZZZ, Stellar Blade and so on, China/India Hero Project and their expansion to PC, mobile and movie/tv shows are meant to be partly to grow mostly in these Asian countries.

The reason is that some of these countries are among the top grossing ones or the fastest growing ones, but due to different reasons gaming there until recent times was only focused on PC and mobile, and was hard for them to enter with a console and foreign games in these markets.

But yes, they are growing fast there. In the first year or so after launch China was the top 6 country for PS, while in the same period for PS4 it was top 11. In addition to the known Asian games, they have many deals with companies like Tencent, Netease, NC Soft etc. pretty likely to make F2P mobile/PC games targeted to Asia using Sony's IPs, which will make their IPs more popular there so will help them sell more consoles.

I don't believe that Chinese games will popularize the PS5 in China because the Chinese people mostly play PC games
