On PC you can use whatever gamepad, whatever headphones, whatever camera, and whatever media remote you already own.

Was curious so looked it up. Yen to USD is currently almost 150:1, i wonder what caused the value to go down more than 10% in the past year, and almost 40% since covid

Interest rates. Japanese Government keeping interest rates at Rock bottom devaluing while federal reserve and US are implementing rate hikes.

"During the Covid pandemic, many other nations adopted that tactic to support their economies.
Those countries are now raising interest rates but the Bank of Japan (BOJ) on Friday yet again kept its main rate below zero. And that is bad for its currency"

This Sony price raises across the board from ps plus to new hardware really makes me think something is going very wrong over at Sony.

Playstation division is the piggy bank for the rest of the company and inflation is eating into those profits. Also xbox is more irrelevant than theyve ever been so they dont have any competition breathing down their neck.

Most tech companies, not only Sony, raised the prices like in many other industries due to big component pricing increases, fuel/shipping prices increases etc. due to big inflation in many countries, lack of components due to covid and the raise of electric cars and AI, etc. And there may be additional reasons such as currency exchange, estimation for inflation and costs to continue rising on the mid to long term etc.

PS5 hardware pretty likely was being sold at a small profit or at a loss when all these costs raised, to a point they where pretty likely forced to raise prices because they were selling their hardware at too big loss. Same applies to all other gaming/PC/tech hardware that isn't sold with a big profit margin. This is why most brands and products raised prices, not only Sony/Jim Ryan.

This is the wrong move. Restructure the PS+ tiers into more atteactive offerings if need more money, there's so, so many ways go do it.
