The Callisto Protocol Dev Striking Distance Studios Lays Off More Than 30 Staff

The Callisto Protocol's last DLC launched in June.

I love how prior to Callisto launching in December, everybody overhyped it, but then acted like it never happened once the reviews came out.

Was just thinking about this earlier today, solid single player game with great graphics and good gameplay, but the PC performance complainers killed any hype.

They also made the boneheaded decision as a new studio to release a AAA horror game which i don't think has ever sold that well as a genre.

I wonder how much pettiness there was within EA's executives to take the Dead Space IP from the freezer after almost 10 years, to produce and release the new title less than two months away from Callisto Protocol, a game made by former Dead Space developers.

I'm still interested in this game. Between fucking up the PC version at launch and lower than expected reviews, I think they should've had earlier price cuts. I was ready to buy for $40, it's currently sitting on Steam for a regular price of $60.

Meh, I liked the game. Hope the layoffs are related to cutting last Gen hardware on next project
