Just give me 1440p/60fps docked and have all the Switch games be backwards compatible and upgraded for the Super Switch and im most likely in day one. And if Nintendo were to bring back Virtual Console like it was on Wii where you could just buy NES, SNES, etc. games, oh man, that would be great!!

  1. The screen will be upgraded to an 8-inch display, supporting 1080P resolution.
These are just some of the hardware information we've got, and not the full extent.

From a hardware perspective, the Switch 2 inherits the dual-mode feature of its predecessor, continuing Nintendo's conservative approach to hardware."

So, regarding jump in power, possible smaller jump NSW > NSW2 than it was WiiU - NSW??

The Switch 2 will be as its predecessor bei g totally outdated in tech. Nintendo fanboys doing this each time before the generational shift. Back then when the Internet was flooded with NX rumours (Codename Switch) they claimed it would be as powerful or even more than as PS4. Drones have a short memory, they have forgotten that Nintendo got burned twice with powerful hardware. N64 and NGC were both a fiasco for Nintendo. Nintendo can't afford to subsidize their hardware, it needs to be on Day 1 in the profit zone. They dream of DSSL and 4K...Do you know how expensive Nintendo would need to sell a console in Handheld form factor to reach what a PS4 Pro could do? Components for mobile systems usually more expensive than for consoles. There is just no reality where Nintendo would accept a loss on hardware sales. Nintendo fanboys need to stop dreaming of something impossible. The only Handheld which can achieve 1440p is the Lenovo Legion GO and has a price tag between 799-1000. A 400 dollar priced Handheld won't be powerful in performance. I except a technical performance something at the range of PS4 Vanilla.

Accessory manufacturers have been able to touch the console but not see it (i.e. the console was inside of a black box, so they could touch it but not see how it actually looks)
This sounds ridiculous and made up. Why would they do this? What's its purpose?

A couple of points about this, that wccftech misses:

- Ampere uses double-pumped FP32 ALUs like RDNA3. The ~20 TFLOPs RTX3070 has similar performance to the 12 TFLOPs RX6700 XT. This means that 4 TFLOPs in Ampere would be similar to a ~2.4 TFLOPs RDNA2 GPU or a ~4.5 TFLOPs RDNA3 GPU. As a comparison, the 780M in the ROG Ally or Legion Go reaches 8 TFLOPs and Strix Point devices appearing in late 2024 / early 2025 might go above 12 TFLOPs (not that TFLOPs paint the full story).

- Neither Cary Goulomb / ThePhawx nor MLID know the GPU clocks for docked or handheld. IMO they're being awfully optimistic about how high the GPU will clock in both handheld and docked mode.
We know that in the current Orin SoCs built on the same Samsung 8nm, every 1 TFLOPs FP32 of GPU results in about 10W of power in that package.
The Orin NX 32GB with 1792 shaders doing 3.4 TFLOPs pushes up to 40W. Expecting the Switch 2 to do 4 TFLOPs in what should be less than 20W is just crazy. This isn't an Apple chip that uses TSMC's latest and greatest N3 process. This is Nintendo using a half-node of 10nm that dates all the way back to 2019 and on a chip that's been ready for over 2 years and sitting around ever since.

- When MLID asked them if the clocks on handheld were around 800MHz and they answered "below that", well of course it is. The Ampere GPU in the Orin Nano using 7-15W power clocks at 625MHz for "Max Frequency", meaning if SoC is set to 7W then the GPU is clocking below 625MHz. Probably less than 500MHz.
