In their latest financial report, Take-Two revealed plans to release 40 new games by the end of 2027, excluding those from their upcoming Gearbox acquisition. This is down from the 52 games they originally announced. There's been talk that some projects got axed, and during their earnings call, Take-Two confirmed this. President Karl Slatoff said they're focusing on their main game series for better success. CFO Lainie Goldstein added that they cut some projects to save money, but it won't hurt their future earnings much. They expect to save over $155 million a year with these changes.
