Rockstar owner Take-Two has discussed the decision not to announce Grand Theft Auto 6 for PC.

The first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer was released in December, confirming a planned 2025 release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

During an interview at a TD Cowen conference this week, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked whether the lack of a PC announcement was set in stone, or if the game could be confirmed for the platform at a later date.

“Well, the lack of an announcement is not something that could be set in stone as near as I could tell, because the only thing that happens after the lack of an announcement is an announcement, I suppose, or a continuing lack of an announcement, I guess that could happen too. It doesn’t seem to me that either would be set in stone,” he said (transcribed by VGC).

“But Rockstar has an approach to platforms which we’ve seen before, and they will make more announcements in due time. I do believe that the right strategy for our business is to be where the consumer is, and historically what this company has done is address consumers anywhere they are, on any platform that makes sense, over time.”

It's all about how ready the online portion of the game is. Those double dippers are worth losing a year and a half of shark card purchases from your PC audience?

If yes, they will release later.

They already gave everyone the finger by rerererereleasing this antique into oblivion.
GTA6 could've been out already.

But all for the bucks, waiting fans are a bunch of fucks.
And now pushing PC even further, I'd say fuck Rockstar right in the keister.

I have the feeling GTA VI will be a fortune for PS5. Especially if they release a PS5 Pro bundled with GTA VI, their sales of PS5 sky rocket. Plus, not being on PC is another lucky case for Sony. I think PS5 could easily surpass PS4 lifetime sales.

The only strategy if you want to sell as much games as they do.

This way they get to protect their game from piracy for at least the first two years and don't need to bother with supporting PC on launch and all the trouble that comes with that.

They are talking about maximizing profits already, if they don't even plan on cutting the price of PS5 maybe they just game up on trying to catch up with the PS4.

Without Sony wasting so much time with PC I bet the PS5 would be gaining considerable ground on the PS4 already. PC ports not only reduce the appeal of PS5 but they also delay the entire pipeline of games from Sony and influence the type of games they are willing to invest on.

First gen where SIE/PlayStation doesn't have a single successful big new IP and no signs of it happening any time soon.
