Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an upcoming open world action-adventure game based on the Avatar film series developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[1] The game is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on December 7, 2023.[2]

Basically Far Cry with some twists and systems to fit the Avatar world. Problem with Far Cry for me has always been, on top of the formulaic repetitiveness, the fact that world they've built is really not that interesting, written etc. Now with Avatar they have the interesting world, and there they can add the solid gameplay systems, and avoid the repetitiveness fatigue with some tricks.

I guess I have to be the final judge on whether they were successful at that when I get to play it.

Yeah I don't like Far Cry formula.

It won't work. You'll just play through Avatar themed watchtowers and outposts instead. The Far Cry repetitiveness will always shine through it.
