This game was not on my radar but I just watched this trailer and it looks really crisp in terms of gameplay and seems to have some very interesting dynamics.

xDefiant is okay but doesn't show the potential this does...

I'm sure we will get more games too that want that crown.

I think we are really too optimistic here cod isn't as evolutionary and innovative as the finals but what keeps the gamer coming back to trigger their dopamine is frankly nostalgia Cod and battlefield will always be preferred because of brand familiarity these aren't established brands it's a good start but to dethrone COD it would need to establish its brand over the years which isn't going to be simply easy
IP that has potential to dethrone COD : Battlefield and Pubg
IPs that have low brand relevance but may dethrone cod : Apex ,Titanfall ,Xdefiant , and The finals

Also COD just nails the smooth feel and has generally tht smooth fps. Alot of times I'll try another shooter and it just never feels quite as smooth.

Activision has a cog machines

Unless those studios were forced to make other projects to serve the Rent Pass catalogues. That's the fastest to kill COD.

Also people should keep an eye on this game this game is made by Timi group if you don't know them they have a big hand in cod mobile and it's actually very good
So don't underestimate these guys as well

The name is also important. 'Call Of Duty' itself makes the casuals go crazy and they flock to it. It has so much weight in the industry. XDefiant sounds like garbage

If you are specifically going for the COD crowd, you better have a nice name to your game, first and foremost.

Medal Of Honor was successful, but it has become irrelevant now due to EA's incompetence.
