Pretty much completely agree with your picks but I wouldn't be surprised if they give GOTY to TOTK either.... the people who vote on these things have a huge soft spot for Nintendo.

TotK is one of the best games I've ever played in my life. It's really incredible, so it winning won't be any kind of charity. The amount of exploration, inventiveness and just pure fun is off the charts. Had to force myself to stop/finish it at 75 hours because it was taking too much focus, and I don't think I even got halfway through the content.

That said I think it will be BG3 most likely, but would not be surprised to see TotK or even something like SM2 win. BG3 is a better "story" for a win since Zelda won in 2017 or whatever it was.

I also don't give a rat's ass what wins. Just like the academy awards. It's just a goofy self congratulatory award show without a shred of actual importance. Kind of a cool looking statue though.

Who would've guessed that BG3 was going to be so good that Zelda ToTK would be seen as the under dog?

I'll be shocked if BG3 doesn't run away with most GoTY awards this year despite this being a really strong year (easily one of the best of all time), it is just that good.

Because in the Sony way, at least, people have taken it too far where 1) its a waste of resources since its features that almost no-one uses, 2) it negatively impacts gamefeel for most of the audience and 3) it actively makes games worse.
