I bet the best Tomb Raider game = Tomb Raider (2013) is probably 20% of that 😁

I’m sure you are right in terms of sales, from an install base of systems at launch, and gowth in franchise visability.

Not trying to be a dick - but the best? As someone who has played each at launch - ’96 stil resonates more deeply with me than the vastly improved graphics of the new TRs. And I loved the 2013 gme. I think it just had more soul.

From VGSalesWiki the lastest official numbers by title.

It left 30 million to cover a spin-off and additional sales after.

Thanks for the information.

Crazy to think the reboot trilogy sales weren’t enough for Square Enix.

Imbeciles.

They sold better than the average FF and DQ game.

Man most of these numbers are made by stat padding, Tomb raider 2013 and rise are sold for 5 AUD on steam sales even shadow complete edition goes for 20. This is why I find the huge numbers told by capcom to be skeevy as well, they stat pad a lot with their high discounts. Sony did it a lot in late PS4 gen as well

Probably because most sales were bargain after years of the launch.

Maybe people here disagree here… late sales at bargain price or bundle is good to increase user base and build goodwill for the next game.

But what matter for companies is what they sell at full price around the launch window.

That is where they make the money.

Eg.

Tomb Raider (2013) initial sales: 3.4m
That means -$200m not counting special editions.

10m at $10 means -$100m.
