According to Appmagic, Tencent is of course the top grossing mobile game publisher of 2023, and is followed by NetEase and Playrix for the fourth year running.

Mihoyo and King remain in fourth and fifth, while Monopoly Go and Royal Match’s rampant success saw Scopely up 14 places to sixth and Dream Games up 22 spots to ninth.

Supercell saw one of the biggest year-on-year drops, falling from 7th place in 2022 to 11th last year.

Mobile games...

According to Appmagic data, Honor of Kings is once more the top grossing game worldwide on iOS and Android – and by some distance.

Tencent’s monster MOBA earned an estimated $1.48bn in 2023, over $300m more than closest rival PUBG Mobile, which is also published by Tencent.

Genshin Impact and Candy Crush Saga swapped places this year, with King’s puzzler leapfrogging Mihoyo’s hit action-RPG, though both were down year-on-year revenue-wise. And arguably the biggest story of 2023 was the trio of new entries in the top ten: Royal Match, Honkai: Star Rail and Monopoly Go

I am incredibly surprised by how much money Monopoly GO is generating in its first year, would've not had expected that.
Also, Tencent is so far ahead of everyone else. Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile continue to just print out money.
Candy Crush continues to do its thing for King.

Genshin Impact has been losing steam for some time now. The cannibalization of Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail(when one is up in revenue, the other is often down) is very real. MiHoYo needs a new game that is not drastically similar to their other games to diversify their portfolio.

Yeah sometimes I see names attached to these amounts and I'm like WTF "that's really making that much!" It's crazy to see and the reason console companies are chasing that golden goose as well.
