Probably was.

For some time it was the only option to easy share screenshots from your games in the internet… at least until the PS App started to auto upload them.

But I understand the new pricing model of Twitter API something atrocious… so Sony can’t do nothing here.

As someone who used to capture footage on PC on Windows 2000 in WinTV2000 on RF connector, consoles streaming to YouTube and friends is fantastic for content creation. No-more need for PC, capture card etc.

This just generates more traffic and community content inclusion for twitter alongside youtube and twitch, if they're adding livestreaming of games to twitter spaces

Yes, PlayStation is very popular. To stream/publish gameplay videos in Twitch or Youtube is very popular too.

Elon Musk recently said he wants to make Twitter more important as video publishing/streaming platform. And since gameplay is an important portion of the video streaming/publishing content, I assume he wants to keep video sharing to Twitter in PS, not charging them the stupid amount of money he eask for using its API.
