Two Months today Ago we had the 20 Year Anniversary of the PSP and DS system reveals

May 11th, 2004 Sony and Nintendo Held their press conferences at E3 2004 and we saw the reveal of my favorite handheld of all time with the PSP and also The DS reveal
Also it is the 20 year anniversary of the debut of Reggie Fils Aime, The Nintendo Revolution, and Twilight Princess's Reveal

Anyone else remember the summer of PSP vs DS in 2004

Playstation at its absolute height. Thankfully its been beat back quite a bit since then.

Amongst 2 of the best selling handhelds.
PSP selling over 80m is pretty good for them. GBA sold around 80 million too. PSP also sold more than the 3DS at 75+m.

DS though is the king of the sales. I preferred PSP and GBA personally

I got the PSP (1K) during my very early days of college. I got the Wayne Gretzky + Starter Pack bundle (as a gift).
I didn't play it much due to school, but I did pick up a few exclusives along the way. Also, I'm still mad at myself for not buying the Red-Black, God of War bundle.

It wasn't until the MGS: Peacewalker - Spirited Green bundle launched (3K model) that I REALLY invested into the PSP:
1) Brave Story New Traveler
2) Coded Arms (both)
3) Kingdom Hearts / Kingdom of Paradise
4) The 3rd Birthday
5) Lunar Silver Star Harmony (I was ADDICTED to this one)
6) Power Stone Collection

I also had a DS (multiple), but I didn't play them much.
I mainly used it for the companion/gifting app thing (I forget what it is called) and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.

Anyways, if you all thought the consoles had a ton of games... Jesus, picking/collecting between the PSP-Vita/3DS/DS was a daunting task!

The PSP is still the best handheld of all time! And damn I miss Kaz and Reggie, Sony and Nintendo have no one like them anymore, charismatic business guys that actually understood and appreciated the gaming industry
