During a Q&A session as part of Ubisoft's most recent third-quarter earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked for his comment on the recent Microsoft reports and what effect such a move might have on Ubisoft's business.

Guillemot could not officially comment or confirm the rumors, but said Microsoft would "decide what's best for them" in regard to publishing its first-party games on competing platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. As for what kind of impact such a move might have, according to Guillemot, not much.

"What you have to look at, anyway, Activision Blizzard used to be multiplatform, so it would have an impact, but it's not a huge impact on the industry,"

Guillemot said.

He is right. Bethesda and AB already were multiplatform, no change there. And MS on their own didn't have any worthwhile games, so no change there either.

For most games yes… little to know impact.

People needs to remember that MS big franchises are not big anymore and the games from acquisitions were multiplatforms already.

Of course it won't make any difference, none of the ABK stuff is exclusive yet, and Microsofts own content is suffering from the gamepass effect and is utter dogshite.
I bet they will still announce "Microsoft is all about innovation. Now we can bring all our games from Bethesda and Activision to everybody"

So it's exactly like before you bought them you mean 🤡

The real change comes next gen when Microsoft has to decide whether to pull out entirely or try to build a userbase with no exclusives. So for the next few years anyway, he's right. Of course his given answer would have been the same anyway, you don't pick a fight publicly like that in games these days.
