Square obviously got burned by all the Game Pass deals they made. They were the most high profile publisher supporting GP with all their games, even some Day 1.

This just proves the fear some of guys have in their mind isn’t real. This doesn’t look like big support for Xbox, when it’s not hitting GP. This is devastating for Xbox and it will for real probably sell less than 100 copies there. Remember that low budget DQ Spinn-off game is also not hitting GP…

Hahahaha what a fuck up. Now instead of 1000 eyeballs it'll have sell fewer than 10 copies. Won't even recover port costs unless Xbox is paying for that, too.
I think they are giving it another chance to see if it's worthwhile. The whiff of fake "going on Gamepass" news can damage a game. See Diablo IV and Scarlet Nexus where sales were damaged by false news they were destined for Gamepass Day 1. When corrected it was sure I'll wait for Gamepass anyway.
