Valve has announced the Steam Deck OLED: White Edition.

This new version of the handheld PC launches on 18th November, but if you want one, be warned: only a limited number will be available ("Once we're out, we're out," Valve says).

"Last year, we released a smoky translucent limited edition Steam Deck OLED as an experiment to find out if there was interest in alternative colourways (there was!). This is our second experiment along those lines," Valve explained, sharing a look at the upcoming Steam Deck.
"The difference this time (aside from the colour!) is that we're able to ship the Limited Edition White to all regions where Steam Deck already ships," the company continued. "We're curious to see what the response is, and will use what we learn to inform future decisions about any potential new colour variants down the line."

Valve said it has been "super happy with the reception of Steam Deck" since the team first launched the LCD version back in 2022. "We've always said our intent is to continually work on improving Steam Deck, and that's true from both a software perspective (continuing to ship improvements) and a hardware one (Steam Deck OLED, as well as ongoing work toward the future of Steam Deck and other hardware plans)."

Blank white is ugly af.
They should have made at least the buttons and triggers coloured. And maybe the back in a black.

680 dollars?

Makes the PS5 Pro look like a bargain.

Of course the PC Crowd won’t have an issue with this price and neither will they flood the forums with their recommended PC Builds.
Stop jumping at shadows. It's always PC bad ain't it? Change the record.

This is a handheld and not a PC and personally, I don't see the appeal.

To be fair it can play PC exclusive, Xbox, PS & Steam own permanent exclusive so for the price a PC handheld that’s design to be more simplified like consoles that plays PS4 & PS5 etc + all the benefits of PC it isn’t bad price.

To be fair it already can’t play all new PC releases…
Imagine in in the next two years?

It is a terrible price for an already dated machine.

Speak for yourself. It’s always Playstation bad ain’t it?

Change the record.

Stop jumping to defend PC when you can’t.

It being a handheld isn’t a defence. This shit is 20 dollars cheaper than the PS5 Pro.

It struggles to play new releases, needs windows to run games that aren't on Steam and it doesn't get every PS first party game day 1.

Way overpriced for what it is.

Cant even see who your replying to, but some of PC fanboys are just rampant on here, they come here to just talk about Playstation. Probably an offshoot of Jahgamer lol.

Guess what, Half life 2 anniversary is coming up soon.

Valve and its fanboys are the only people who arent expected to release games multiplatform, while moaning about everyone else has to do it.. I wonder why… and theres always an excuse

Well we know why. Gabe & Valve don’t have to do much. Xbox & PS are both killing there platforms, hardware & storefront in the long run & by Valve keeping its exclusive first party & already having hundreds of exclusive PC games by default they will slowly eat away market share off Xbox & PS. I mean just look at the PC landscape the windows storefront is essentially dead to PC gamers that same for Epic outside Fortnite & if PS has a PC launcher with no exclusive whether there PC ports that are now exclusive (true permanent exclusive) & there multilayer are exclusive aswell the PS PC launcher will fail as PC gamers will stick to Steam where it has a bigger library of 3rd party & true permanent exclusive first party + deep discount & other PC/Steam benefits. Xbox mobile storefront will fail unless MS makes candy crush both current & future MS/Xbox mobile game exclusive if they don’t there literally no reason for that storefront to exist.

Valve/Steam, Nintendo, Apple, Netflix will be the only platforms that will be here in the long run & even some I just mention won’t have strong enough ip, output or reputation to convert players.
