Great thread.... FF16 doesn't get enough appreciation, and some of the key art for it are amazing. But my favorite is the king, Tetsuya Nomura.

Nomura is amazing, I love his art, specially this one he made when Cloud went to Smash Bros

Kim Hyung Tae, lead Stellar Blade dev and ShiftUp CEO and founder. Amazing artist

Kazuma Kaneko.

He did a lot of the character and demon designs for Atlus games (the SMT ones are what I like the most).

He also designed Dante and Vergil's devil forms in DMC3.

All of the artists you guys named are top-tier, NO DOUBTS! A lot of unsung heroes (both Male and Female) at Capcom, Squaresoft, Enix, etc. during the early 90s, too.
But hands down, my favourite artist is tied between: Yoshitaka Amano + Akihiko Yoshida. Second/third place would be: Yoji Shinkawa.

If you guys have time, there are a lot industry folks at "ArtStation".
They have INCREDIBLE content there. Again, a lot of unsung Heroes (not just from Japan, too).


Edit: This art-piece lives rent-free in my mind all the time, lol. It's not fancy or anything, but I love it.

Peter Chan (LucasArts - Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle & Grim Fandango)
Sam Dider (Blizzard - Starcraft, Diablo & Warcraft)
Leonard Boyarsky (Black Isle Studios - Fallout 1 and Fallout 2)
Johannes Söderqvist (EA - Mirror's Edge)
Dylan Cuthbert (QGames - The Tomorrow Children. Personally, I think he is a pompous A-hole, but he does design well).

I am definitely missing a lot - my memory is blanking now.
