What's an admittedly 6/10 or 7/10 game you really enjoyed?

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

It's my personal favourite for a middle-shelf Final Fantasy. A great 6 or maybe a very low 7/10 game to play through that offers a nice enough strategy game flavored spin on ff12. The story is also decent enough to not be boring, and helps Vaan and Penelo be actual characters rather than the borderline cardboard cutouts they were in base FF12. I personally love the game, but I can also understand why someone would hate it.

Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2 from some niche dev called From Software back in the 2000s.

I stopped taking review scores seriously about then too.

Which reminds me I should play Biomutant. We got that ps5 version thru plus awhile back. I played it briefly at release… honestly seemed pretty great and impressions from those who actually played it are generally swooning. It had a decent run with the souls crowd too.

Asura's wrath

The game play was button mashing, but i loved everything else, over the top action story with very powerful beings slogging it out.


Call of Cthulhu

Another one where the game play isn't great, but i love lovecraftian horror and found the story really interesting.


I could list alot more. Those are at the top of my head.

I enjoyed crackdown 3. Once you upgrade mobility the game is dumb fun.

Also those spiders RPGs like mars war logs and technomancer have their charm even if they are clunky.

And of course the elephant in the room: god hand.

Not great games but had loads of fun playing multiplayer with them.
