Bloodborne sold decently well. The internet consistently makes it out to be bigger than it is though it's actually decently high on the list of best selling SIE PS4 games, it certainly sold more than Demon's Souls (PS3) which got a full remake.
So why hasn't it been patched, remastered, or remade?
Bloodborne is in this weird middle ground of games for SIE, grouped with Day's Gone, Ratchet and Clank, Infamous Second Son, and Detroit Become Human.
Popular but not necessarily SUPER popular, but made significantly more complicated because the game was developed externally. Day's Gone got a PS5 patch, Ratchet and Clank got a PS5 patch.
Infamous Second Son is 1080p30. On PS4 Pro they bring that up to 4K with some caveats, those being that it's not actually 4K, but 1800p checkerboard up to 4K from a lower resolution than 1800p. This game did not receive a PS5 patch nor did the First Light DLC.
Sucker Punch is internal, but they've moved on from Infamous as a franchise with the success of Ghost of Tsushima. They released Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut and now are focused on releasing Ghost of Yotei and this is where we see similarities with FromSoftware and Bloodborne.
Bloodborne was moderately successful in the units it sold, but since then FromSoftware has had massive success with Elden Ring. Putting resources into Bloodborne doesn't make a TON of sense with the IP being owned by a different company. My guess is that FromSoftware would do a remaster or remake if Sony sold them the license, but outside of that their priority is Elden Ring.
So the only other alternative is having a company like Bluepoint do the remaster. I think if Demon's Souls had performed better that would have been higher on their list of priorities. I think that's the same reason why Demon's Souls hasn't hit PC yet. Bluepoint is a small team that probably can't handle their current project and doing a remaster or even doing a PC port of Demon's Souls to the standard that it would have to be and it is low on the list of things for Nixxes to tackle.
A Bloodborne remaster/remake is likely at some point, but when and by whom is more complex than people complaining about other games getting remastered would lead you to believe. Miyazaki has even suggested that he wants to do it, but isn't at liberty to discuss it.
