Maybe exclusives don't matter it the short term but that identity was build overtime by the things PlayStation did different, now it's just 99% like Xbox and Xbox fucking sucks. It's all about identity.
PlayStation is a well known and trusted Brand for console gaming over decades now.
If you had a PlayStation 1 or 2 as a kid, you likely ending up buying a PS5 for some console gaming in you adults free time.
PlayStation has the bigger and aggressive marketing and the PS Logo and button symbols are iconic.
PlayStation is for the majority of the world like iPhone for US, it's the choice of the general public.
Things like exklusivs and power doesn't matter if you just need a machine to play your Fortnite and CoD rounds. So you buy the next thing you know it's just works, and it's for the most people the PlayStation.

He analizes the different type of exclusives: by "true" he means pure PS5 only games. He also analyzes crossgen PS4+PS5 exclusives, consoles exclusives that also end in PC or rival consoles, or even temporal. He also talks about the VR ones or 3rd party ones, both AAA or small ones.
He also analyzed the progression of which type of exclusives are more common now vs before (basically they focus way less on "full", "true" exclusives compared to before), and how their results changed (spoiler: basically improved in any area).
Meaning that yes, the main type of exclusivity has been changing, but continues having a ton of exclusives of other types that looking at the results players also seem to value, so they do the job. And that, combined with other factors he also analyzed, made the PS5 more successful than previous generations.
Its success doesn't rely on the "true" exclusives as some people think.
Was that just year one where the 360 was severely supply-constrained?Just a reminder that the xbox one outsold the xbox 360 for a while before the lack of games killed it.
Anyone who thinks this is sustainable is only fooling themselves.
